What is a 10K?
The 10K run is a popular long-distance race covering 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). Often called a 10K race, it’s one of the most common road races, alongside the shorter 5K and longer half marathon and marathon.
A 10K is a great next step for beginners if they’ve already completed a 5K and want to challenge themselves with a longer race.
It can also be done in a run/walk style, and some runners find it easier to pace themselves slowly over this distance than running shorter races at a faster speed.
10k Beginner’s Training Plan 12-Week
We’re introducing our comprehensive 12-week training program, designed for beginners who are ready to progress from a 5K to preparing for a 10K finish.
