How to Use the Pace Calculator
Whether you’re training for your first 5K or chasing a marathon PR, knowing your pace is the foundation of smart running. This calculator works in three modes; choose the one that fits what you already know.
Pace mode is what most runners use. Enter your finish time and the distance you ran, and the calculator tells you how fast you were moving in minutes per kilometer, minutes per mile, kilometers per hour, and more. Great for reviewing a run you just finished.
Time mode works in reverse. Enter a distance and the pace you plan to run, and it calculates your projected finish time. Use this before a race to set realistic goals for example, if you want to run a half-marathon at 5:30 per kilometer, it tells you exactly what finish time to expect.
Distance mode answers the question “how far did I go?” Enter a duration and a pace, and the calculator figures out the distance covered. This is useful for treadmill runs where the display cuts off, or for estimating mileage from a time-based workout.
For distance, you can type a custom number or pick a standard race from the dropdown: 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon, and more. The calculator automatically fills in the correct distance so you don’t have to remember that a half-marathon is 21.0975 km.
After calculating, you’ll see a full pace conversion table showing your speed in every common unit, a race time predictor for popular distances, and a splits table showing your cumulative time at every kilometer and mile mark.
For time and distance modes, make sure your pace unit matches the number you’re typing. If you enter 6:00 and select “Per Mile,” the calculator treats it as 6 minutes per mile not per kilometer.
